Positive Impact Initiatives
We are deeply committed to supporting local community projects and grassroots initiatives across Tanzania. One of our early contributions was our involvement with Kingsley Holgate’s and the “Give a Net, Save a Life” programme in 2006, handing out mosquito nets to mothers with babies and young children. Over the years, we’ve collaborated with guests and corporate groups on countless meaningful projects, including providing clean water, solar lighting and a library to Misigiyo School. A portion of every night spent at our camps supports vital conservation efforts, including:
The Serengeti De-snaring Programme, a joint project between Tanzania National Parks, Frankfurt Zoological Society and a dedicated group of tour operators working to reduce the number of snares in the Serengeti National Park, which maim or kill thousands of wild animals every year.
The Kilimanjaro Project, a grassroots community driven initiative breathing life back into the foothills of Africa’s tallest peak. They’re on a mission to grow millions of trees and restore vital ecosystems in Africa, one tree at a time.
We initiated the Kilimanjaro Marathon to help develop athletics in the country – with great success. This event supports a number of local charities including Tumaini La Maisha, fighting childhood cancer. By staying with us, you actively contribute to the preservation of the environment and the betterment of local communities.
