A Front-Row Seat to the Migration

Our seasonal Serengeti North Wilderness Camp lies in the Kogatende area, on a tucked away site in the northern Serengeti, with easy access to key river crossing points along the Mara River. By relocating with the herds, we position ourselves in some of the top game viewing areas in the park. Adhering to strict eco-friendly guidelines, our tented camp offers personalised service along with delicious food, a relaxed vibe and welcoming Tanzanian hospitality.

Local Area

The northern Serengeti stuns with rolling hills, lush riverine forests and dramatic granite outcrops. It’s the hotspot from July to October, when wildebeest and zebras charge across the Mara River in epic crossings. But don’t get obsessed with just the crossings—this beautiful part of the park is packed with wildlife! From elephants and buffalo to leopard, zebra, eland and gazelle, there’s plenty to see. Plan to stay at least 3 to 4 nights to soak it all in. Birdwatching is a treat both around the camp and on game drives, and don’t miss a balloon safari for a breathtaking view.

Relax Under Canvas Comfort

Our ten spacious new tents are comfortably furnished and set apart for extra privacy. Each tent features an optional netted section to enclose the open verandah for insect-proofing if preferred. The en-suite bathroom includes a vanity basin, gravity-fed shower and toilet. Lulled to sleep by the sounds of nature, you’ll wake to fresh tea or coffee delivered to your tent, perfect for sipping on your private verandah. A family tent is available on request.

“We visited the northern part of Serengeti last year and stayed at the Serengeti North Wilderness Camp for two memorable nights at that time. We decided to stay a little longer this time, for three nights, and once more were regaled from the moment of our arrival. This is a non-permanent camp, so we were not at the same place as last year.  The service was excellent, and, despite the difficulty of supplying such a remote location, the food was very good. Try to be here in July or August, to witness the wildebeest migration, as we did.”

“This place is fantastic. We got to stay in semi luxury tents, including private bathroom and toilet facilities (our favourite as we could have complete privacy and still lie in bed listening to nature all around us) but we also got to enjoy the “glamping” experience. A large king sized bed, private toilet and bathroom, and plenty of personal space. We got to enjoy all the home comforts, whilst also experiencing the best that nature could provide.”

“Wow, what a beautiful setting, we stayed for 2 nights, and then had 3 nights at Serengeti North Wilderness camp.  The tents are discreetly placed away from your neighbour, to allow for sufficient privacy and are gloriously decked out, with very comfortable Kingsize bed, headboard with reading lamps, a solar torch, and a whistle should you need to blow the alarm, plenty of bottled water in your room, as well as extra blankets and pillows should you need, a small hanging cupboard takes care of the gamedrive warm clothes.”

“If you like to awake in your comfortable king sized bed with hot shower, flushing toilet and most of the creature comforts of home and listen to the lions, elephants, hyenas and water buffalo whilst your morning tea / coffee is delivered to your tent this place is for you. The tent is, as my wife pointed out, bigger and more comfortable than some hotel rooms we have stayed in and the bed certainly was”
