A place of wonder

Our seasonal Ndutu Wilderness Camp is your cosy hideaway in the heart of the Ndutu plains, right in the thick of calving season which takes place on the grassy plains surrounding the camp. Nestled under shady trees on a private site, our intimate camp features ten spacious tents. Renowned for our warm service and hearty meals, come rest and dine under starry African skies.

Local Area

Ndutu buzzes with year-round wildlife, including elephants, hyenas, giraffes and big cats. Come calving season (January to March), the landscape is dominated by the massive herds of wildebeest and zebra that flood the plains. This explosion of life turns Ndutu into a predator paradise, attracting lions, cheetahs, leopards, servals, and both striped and spotted hyenas – all drawn by the abundance of vulnerable newborns. With its mix of woodlands, plains and soda lakes, Ndutu is also a unique place for birdwatching, with over 400 species to be spotted. Visit Olduvai Gorge and a local Maasai village for a deeper understanding of the culture and heritage of the region.

Our ten generously sized tents offer a blend of comfort and privacy, each with the option to add a netted enclosure to the open verandah for added insect proofing. Inside, you’ll find a comfortable bed with quality linen, and an en-suite bathroom with a vanity basin, gravity-fed shower and toilet. Drift off to the soothing sounds of the wild and wake up to a steaming cup of tea or coffee delivered right to your tent, ideal for enjoying on your secluded verandah. A family tent is available upon request.
